Info for course participants

INFORMATION FOR COURSE PARTICIPANTS
An experience for life!
Time
The course is normally conducted in its entirety at Østre Æra. The courses are primarily held over a week, with attendance at 3:00 PM and ground training starting Sunday evening at 5:00 PM. During the course, you will stay in our accommodation building. We have the country’s finest facility with changing rooms, a sauna, a shared kitchen, and a living room. Common dinners are sometimes prepared, and there is always socializing in the evenings.
You can purchase complete meals at the kiosk; alternatively, you must at least bring food for Sunday evening and Monday morning. Detailed information will be sent out to all students before the course starts.
Instructors
There are very strict requirements to become an AFF instructor in Norway. In addition to good qualities as an instructor, one must also be a very skilled and experienced skydiver.
Equipment
Student equipment is the same regardless of the course type and mainly consists of:
- Skydive Rig (harness, parachute, reserve parachute, and automatic activation device, ADD)
- Altimeter
- Helmet
- Goggles
You will be lent full skydive equipment for the entire student period. You must bring training clothing and shoes that support your ankles. Sturdy running shoes are recommended.
Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, you must have written permission from both parents or guardians.
- There is an upper weight limit of 100 kg.
- You must have undergone a medical check-up (the medical form can be downloaded here).
- You must participate in and complete a skydiving course organized by a skydiving club.
- Mandatory accident insurance and membership must be paid via Min Idrett before the first jump.
- We have 10 places per skydiving course. If fewer than 4 are registered, it is not guaranteed that the course will be conducted. This means that your booking for the skydiving course still applies, but it will be moved to a later date that you can attend. If the course is canceled, we will notify you at least 7 days before the course starts.
