Flocking Canopy Camp

Led by Jonas Kristensen | 3-Day Event

Skydive Oslo is proud to host a 3-day Flocking Canopy Camp led by Jonas Landeværn Kristensen.

Coaching

Introducing Jonas Landeværn Kristensen – our guest canopy piloting coach from Denmark.

Jonas is a full-time Master Rigger with over 13 years of skydiving experience and more than 5,000 jumps. For the past 10 years, he has worked professionally as an AFF Instructor, Tandem Instructor, and coach, training jumpers across multiple disciplines. He holds national records in both formation skydiving (FS) and freefly (FF) formations, but his true passion has always been canopy piloting. Jonas has been competing in Canopy Piloting (CP) for 11 years and is the reigning national champion.

For Jonas, flocking plays the same role in canopy piloting as wind tunnels do for freefall disciplines. In flocking, you gain a clear reference in the sky and receive immediate visual feedback on every input you give your canopy – whether through body drag, harness inputs, risers, or toggles.

By continuously comparing what you see with what you physically feel, you begin to understand the full range of your inputs and how they affect your wing. Over time, as you become more comfortable flying close to others, you develop a deeper understanding of canopy airflow, turbulence, and safe proximity flying, which lays the foundation for progressing into more advanced flocking formations and dynamic flows.

If you want to experience the joy of flocking, improve your canopy control and awareness, and have a lot of fun flying with an experienced champion, come join the flock with Jonas at this event!

Goals
Throughout the camp, participants will work on canopy formation flying fundamentals, including approaching techniques, speed control, planning, separation strategies, and group discipline. The training is designed to improve confidence and control under canopy while translating directly to safer everyday flying and better performance in busy landing areas.

Whether your goal is to refine basic flocking skills or advance toward more dynamic group canopy flying, this camp offers high-quality coaching, detailed debriefs, and clear progression over two focused days of flying at Skydive Oslo.

This camp is ideal for licensed jumpers with solid canopy fundamentals who want to fly more precisely, more predictably, and more safely with others.

Camp Structure
To accommodate a wide range of participants, we have divided the camp into two experience levels.

Day 1, 5th June: The first day will be dedicated to beginners/intermediate and the camp will take place throughout Friday 5th of June. There will be a briefing session the evening before, as detailed below.

Days 2-3, 6th-7th June: The second part of the camp, taking place on days two and three, will focus on intermediate and advanced canopy pilots. A separate briefing meeting will be held the evening before,  more information below.
